There are microscopic holes in the polish.<\/p>\n<p>The oil <em><strong>does<\/strong><\/em> work it&#8217;s way into the polish to help keep it flexible.<\/p>\n<p>As each day passes with us washing our hands, our polish continues to dry out.<\/p>\n<p>You&#8217;ll start to see little cracks in the polish.\u00a0<strong>Cracked polish<\/strong> is prime for water absorption, which <strong>breaks<\/strong> the polish-to-nail-<strong>bond<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Your polish will start to <strong>chip<\/strong> and you&#8217;ll be more tempted to <strong>pick and peel<\/strong>. And oiling your cuticle lines keeps the <strong>skin soft<\/strong> and <strong>prevents hangnails.<\/strong><\/p>\n<h2>Polish Is A Trap!<\/h2>\n<p>Polish has a tighter molecular structure than nail plates.\u00a0When you are applying oil to your polish and cuticle lines, the oil is <em><strong>not<\/strong><\/em> getting into your nail plate.<\/p>\n<p>This is why it&#8217;s so important to <strong>&#8220;go naked&#8221;<\/strong> for my <a title=\"What Pure\u2122 Can Do For You\" href=\"https:\/\/www.nailcareheadquarters.com\/products\/pure-nail-oil\/anas-3-day-hydration-treatment\/\">3-Day Hydration Treatment\u2122<\/a> to get your nail plates back in balance. Then your manicure will actually<strong> trap that oil in<\/strong> your nails temporarily.<\/p>\n<p>Your body also continually sends moisture and body oil into the nail plate through the pink nail bed underneath the nail.<\/p>\n<p>The polish also traps this moisture in your nails and <strong>protects them<\/strong>. My personal experience has shown that polish creates an excellent\u00a0<strong>barrier between water, soaps<\/strong> and the nail plate.<\/p>\n<h2>In Between Manicures<\/h2>\n<p>You&#8217;ve worked really hard to keep all of this oil and moisture in your nails. But with one swift wipe of <a title=\"Is Acetone a Safe Nail Polish Remover?\" href=\"https:\/\/www.nailcareheadquarters.com\/is-acetone-a-safe-nail-polish-remover\/\">acetone (or non-acetone) remover<\/a>, you&#8217;ll undo 1\/2 of your hard work. Thus begins the love\/hate relationship with removers.<\/p>\n<p>Acetone is the <strong>best<\/strong> solvent for nail lacquer\u2014and it&#8217;s also the <strong>best<\/strong> solvent for oil and moisture.<\/p>\n<p><em><strong>How do you dissolve polish but not dry out your skin or nails?<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<p>The simple answer is\u2014<strong>you can&#8217;t! <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>I guarantee you there isn&#8217;t a product on this planet that can\u00a0achieve\u00a0this claim.<\/p>\n<p>The answer seems quite simple when you understand what&#8217;s really happening to your nails.<\/p>\n<h2>Simply Put It Back<\/h2>\n<p>After removing a manicure, your nails will need to be rehydrated with water and <a title=\"Products\" href=\"https:\/\/www.nailcareheadquarters.com\/products\/\">nail oil<\/a>. Remember healthy nails are the perfect balance of <a title=\"Nail Care: How To Strengthen Brittle Nails\" href=\"https:\/\/www.nailcareheadquarters.com\/nail-care-how-to-strengthen-brittle-nails\/\">18% water and 5% oil.\u00a0<\/a><\/p>\n<p>After removing the polish, rinse your hands in warm water and scrub them with a nail brush for a few minutes. You want your nails to absorb a small percentage of water\u2014not a lot\u2014just a little.<\/p>\n<p>Then oil your nails and cuticle lines. You&#8217;ll know how long you need depending on how frequently you need to reapply the oil. Your nails should only need 2 to 8 hours of oiling between manicures.<\/p>\n<p>Wipe your nails with rubbing alcohol, to clean of dirt the the surface layer of oil.
