The beauty industry was forced to find a replacement and they found it in jojoba. When comparing image #2 to #3, you can see why.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2><em>Legal<\/em><\/h2>\n<p>Jojoba is chemically classified as a <strong>wax ester<\/strong>, and this structure sets jojoba apart from vegetable oils.\u00a0Jojoba is a straight, unsaturated ester chain of fatty alcohols and fatty acids. You can easily see this in photo #4 above. The olive oil (like most plant oils) has three branches that kind of make it a &#8220;bigger&#8221; molecule.*<\/p>\n<p>This basic distinction explains why <strong>jojoba is so readily absorbed into skin and hair<\/strong>, and why the quality of <strong>moisturization<\/strong> is so <strong>superior<\/strong> to its competitors.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>Jojoba <strong>penetrates<\/strong> into skin <strong>rapidly<\/strong> without leaving any oily sensation within only a few seconds. This is very different from the branched fatty acids of other vegetable oils that just sit on your skin.\u00a0It is so immediate in this rapid penetration that one may think it evaporated, but <strong>it really\u00a0did enter the skin\/nails<\/strong>\u2014the true benefit comes from what enters your skin and nails. <strong>Jojoba replaces<\/strong> the sebum that we keep washing away from our skin and hair.\u00a0[source:\u00a0<a title=\"Treatment of Dry Skin Jojoba oil\" href=\"http:\/\/jojobassaf.com\/jojoba_oil.php\" target=\"_blank\">jojobassaf.com\/jojoba_oil.php<\/a>]<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>So my question to you&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><em><strong>When comparing the photos above, which ingredients do you think are going to absorb easier into the microscopic tunnels between your nail&#8217;s keratin cells?<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2>Treatment of Dry Skin<\/h2>\n<p>Our skin and nails become <strong>dry<\/strong> because we are <strong>constantly washing<\/strong> the oils away.<\/p>\n<p>The human body <strong>isn&#8217;t <\/strong>supposed to be scrubbed with beautifully fragranced <strong>body washes<\/strong> every day.<\/p>\n<p>Human hands <strong>aren&#8217;t <\/strong>supposed to be washed, on average <strong>20 times a day<\/strong>, with antibacterial soaps.<\/p>\n<p><strong>The human body is supposed to be slightly oily.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The <strong>sebum traps the moisture<\/strong> that comes up through the skin and nails. But we keep washing the sebum away!<\/p>\n<p>Our body is designed to <strong>\u201cmoisturize\u201d itself<\/strong> \u2013 from the inside out. The sebum layer&#8217;s function is to be the <strong>barrier to the evaporation<\/strong> of moisture from within.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2>Vanity Over Function<\/h2>\n<p>Throughout recent centuries, our desire to have the\u00a0<strong>privileges<\/strong>\u00a0of the <strong>wealthy class<\/strong> has led to our <strong>misguided belief<\/strong> that we should bathe daily.<\/p>\n<p>Brilliant\u00a0<strong>marketing campaigns<\/strong> by soap companies have<strong> perpetuated this belief<\/strong>\u00a0of being\u00a0squeaky\u00a0clean. Now we have a <strong>new problem\u2014dry skin<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>A new market is opened up to solve our new problem. Lotions, creams, balms and salves were created\u2014all promising to &#8220;<strong>moisturize<\/strong>.&#8221;\u00a0The first ingredient is usually water and they contain <strong>humectants<\/strong> to draw the water out of the air, making you <strong>&#8220;feel&#8221;<\/strong> moisturized. I just feel\u00a0<strong>slippery and\u00a0<\/strong><b>slimy<\/b>\u00a0with most of them.<\/p>\n<p>We <strong>can&#8217;t moisturize<\/strong> our bodies with water. If we could, then our dry skin would be solved with a bath or shower. You and I both know that our <strong>skin usually feels drier<\/strong> after bathing.<\/p>\n<p>Don&#8217;t get me wrong &#8230; I still have some <strong>favorite lotions<\/strong>. I just know <strong>they aren&#8217;t moisturizing<\/strong> since they sit on the top of my skin. It just feels less dry and itchy.<\/p>\n<p>When we put on lotions, we&#8217;re simply\u00a0<strong>masking the problem<\/strong>.
