Nail polish removal just got way\u00a0easier!<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Besides, using a peel off base coat I\u2019ve discovered that the <strong>fastest way<\/strong> to remove polish is using my <\/span><b>Soak and Swipe\u2122 method.<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Some of us don\u2019t want to use a peel off basecoat. If you\u2019re <\/span><b>busy like me<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, you want your manicure to <\/span><b>last as long as possible<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> without chipping. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">This is obviously a <\/span><b>desire for many<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> of us since the new lines of polishes are touting up to <strong>7-10 days<\/strong> of glossy wear.<\/span><\/p>\n<h3>See\u00a0It In Action<\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">For those of you ready to start before even finishing this article, here is my <strong>quick video tutorial<\/strong> and the written directions. This helps minimize the drying effect acetone has on the skin.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Thoroughly saturate one piece of cotton with acetone. You want it almost dripping.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Apply cotton to nail<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Apply <a href=\"http:\/\/www.myblisskiss.com\/soak-swipe-manicure-clips\/\">manicure clip<\/a>, and press firmly closed. This helps increase the warmth of the acetone.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Continue the process with remaining 4 fingers.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>How To Finish<\/h2>\n<ol>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Check the first nail. Do you see the <\/span><b>polish getting pulled<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> into the cotton? Regular polish will dissolve quickly. Glitter and gel polishes will take longer to dissolve.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Remove the clip.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Saturate another piece of cotton and press it on the cotton on your nail. With firm pressure, slide the cotton off from cuticle line to tip of nail. The <\/span><b>polish should swipe right off.<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> It\u2019s a total <\/span><b>game changer!<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> I can already hear you giggling at how fast that worked.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Continue with remaining fingers.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Repeat the process on the other hand.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<h2>Why I Love This Technique<\/h2>\n<h3>Staining<\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Color in polish is created with different dyes and pigments. Some polish companies use cheaper <\/span><b>pigments that can stain the nail plate<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. I can also attest to using the salon brands and ending up with nails stained bright blue, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nailcareheadquarters.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/04\/yellow-nails-image.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright wp-image-92942 size-medium\" title=\"nail polish remover\" src=\"https:\/\/www.nailcareheadquarters.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/04\/yellow-nails-image-300x296.jpg\" alt=\"nail polish remover\" width=\"300\" height=\"296\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.nailcareheadquarters.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/04\/yellow-nails-image-300x296.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.nailcareheadquarters.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/04\/yellow-nails-image-100x100.jpg 100w, https:\/\/www.nailcareheadquarters.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/04\/yellow-nails-image.jpg 468w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a>purple, or pink.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">When you experience <\/span><b>yellow staining<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> over multiple manicures, that\u2019s because of the compounding effect of <\/span><b>removing polish<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">When this happens to me, I can see nice <strong>transparent nail growth<\/strong> past my cuticle line and the yellow staining deepens as the nail becomes the free edge. <\/span><\/p>\n<p>In the photo to the right, you can see what I mean. See how the nail is nice and transparent near the cuticle line, but it gets more stained as it goes toward my tips?<\/p>\n<p>That\u2019s just <strong>staining from polish.<\/strong><\/p>\n<h3>Scrubbing<\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">When the lacquer has hardened on your nail plate, the pigments are trapped in the resins. What happens when you are <\/span><b>scrubbing to dissolve<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> the lacquer? Those pigments are released from the resin.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Ok, so that\u2019s not such a big deal. We can live with that. Right?<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">But what are you doing when you scrub? You\u2019re <\/span><b>driving the pigments into the top surface layers <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">of the nail plate.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Besides the fact that scrubbing takes a<\/span><b> long time <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">and sucks the oil out of your nail plate, you can see it\u2019s just <\/span><b>not a great option<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.<\/span><\/p>\n<h3>Warming\u00a0Acetone<\/h3>\n<blockquote><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In Doug Schoon\u2019s book <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Nail Structure and Chemistry<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, he says that \u201cnail enhancements will swell and break apart more quickly if the solvent is slightly warmer than body temperature. Slightly warming product removers\/solvents can significantly reduce product removal time&#8230;Warming solvents should be done with great care and caution! <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Many solvents are highly flammable, including acetone and alcohol. To safely warn the solvents, place a partially filled plastic bottle containing the solvent under hot running water. Never warm solvents on a stove, in a microwave, or with an open flame. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Most salon solvents are far too flammable and may catch fire. Also loosen the cap so that pressure doesn\u2019t build up in the bottle, causing it to crack or burst open. Finally, cover the dish and hand with a damp cloth while soaking to reduce vapors in the air.\u201d<\/span><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The takeaway from this is; <\/span><b>don\u2019t blow up your house<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">! You\u2019re risking your safety and perhaps even life when warming highly flammable solvents like acetone. It\u2019s a hazardous task and I don\u2019t recommend it. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">So, how perfect is this <a href=\"http:\/\/www.myblisskiss.com\/soak-swipe-manicure-clips\">Soak and Swipe<\/a>\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u2122 technique?<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> The <\/span><b>clips warm the acetone<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> and covers it to reduce vapors in the air. Yay!<\/span><\/p>\n<h3>Why Acetone?<\/h3>\n<blockquote><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Doug also says, \u201cwhy do some nail technicians avoid acetone? Probably because they\u2019ve heard untrue things about this beneficial substance. What is the truth about acetone? Acetone is one of the most important solvents in the world\u2026.Just because a chemical is absorbed through the skin doesn\u2019t mean it must be unsafe. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In the case of acetone, it is almost impossible for dangerous amounts of acetone to penetrate the skin. Unless you soak your fingers every day in a bowl of acetone for long periods, it is very unlikely to cause serious harm or damage.\u201d <em>~Nail Structure and Product Chemistry<\/em><\/span><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<h3>Icy Fingers<\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">I originally learned soaking instead of scrubbing by Deborah Lippmann. The <\/span><b>thing I hated<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> was how cold my fingers became. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Since<strong> acetone evaporates quicker<\/strong> than water, it makes your <strong>skin very cold<\/strong>. The process became a love\/hate relationship.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">When I figured out that <strong>manicure clips<\/strong> make polish removal <a href=\"http:\/\/www.myblisskiss.com\/soak-swipe-manicure-clips\">incredibly fast and comfortable<\/a><\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, I knew I needed to bring them to my Bliss Kiss\u2122 customers.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2>The Solution for Gel Nail Polish Removal\u00a0Too!<\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Manicure clips are also very helpful for those of you <\/span><b>who love gel nails<\/b><b>! <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">They are easier and way <\/span><b>quicker<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0to apply\u00a0than the traditional foil wrap method.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Just make sure that you <\/span><b>file off the shiny surface<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> of the gel so the acetone can penetrate the gel. <\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Also, soak long enough that the gel completely slides off with the pressure of your fingers. <\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Do those two things and you&#8217;ll see how easily the Soak &amp;\u00a0Swipe manicure clips remove gel nail polish.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Although manufacturers\u2019 instructions say to use an orangewood stick to push the flaked gel off, they are <\/span><b>wrong<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Even Doug Schoon agrees with me. His <\/span><b>electron microscope damage<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> can be seen in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nailcareheadquarters.com\/remove-gel-nails-without-damage\">his article about safe polish removal<\/a>. \u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<h2>In Conclusion<\/h2>\n<p>Nail polish removal is a necessary although annoying part of polishing our nails with gorgeously colored lacquers.<a href=\"https:\/\/www.nailcareheadquarters.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/11\/ana-seidel-signature_72-e1489004560786.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright wp-image-326 size-full\" title=\"nail polish remover\" src=\"https:\/\/www.nailcareheadquarters.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/11\/ana-seidel-signature_72-e1489004560786.jpg\" alt=\"nail polish remover\" width=\"125\" height=\"108\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Isn&#8217;t it wonderful when knowledge and products come together to make our lives easier?
